Resident Evil 4 Remake will have a Gold Edition: this is all we know

The listing appeared leaked on Metacritic, and the renowned portal rushed to delete it. The quickest ones were able to see that it will be released on February 9, 2024. Capcom usually follows a consistent pattern when it comes to video games: announcing complete editions after both the base title and its downloadable contents or expansions have been released. It’s a common practice in their business model, so it was only a matter of time before they announced the Resident Evil 4 Remake: Gold Edition.

This version appeared listed on the renowned website Metacritic, responsible for gathering scores from various media outlets worldwide. Shortly after its appearance, Metacritic removed the listing, but the fastest ones managed to capture it. The page contained scarce information, although it did include a release date set for February 9, 2024. This is almost a year after its initial release in stores, which aligns quite well.

What will this edition include? Well, you don’t need to be the best fortune-teller in the world to figure it out. On one hand, it will feature the base game, namely, Resident Evil 4 Remake, while on the other hand, it would include Separate Ways, the expansion where you control Ada Wong, which is quite noteworthy (about 5 or 6 hours of highly entertaining gameplay).

As we mentioned earlier, this is a common practice for Capcom with almost all of their video games. For instance, Resident Evil 7 also had a Gold Edition, as did Resident Evil Village. The idea is always to bring together everything released into a single package. In physical copies, for example, everything typically arrives on one disc or a combination of a disc and a downloadable code.

While Capcom is still confirming this edition – something that is just a matter of time – it’s worth noting that Resident Evil 4 is launching its VR mode this very week. Moreover, it’s completely free if you own Sony’s virtual reality headset.
