Elden Ring Player Beats the Game’s Hardest Boss Without Even Having to Fight Her

Elden Ring players are still coming up with interesting ways to defeat the unforgiving bosses of The Lands Between, but one lucky Tarnished had a rather unusual encounter with the hardest foe of all. While Malenia has given a hard time to plenty of Elden Ring players, this player ended up defeating her without even having to fight her.

As is the case with a majority of Soulslike games, the difficulty level of Elden Ring has been one of the major talking points since its release. While Radahn doesn’t enjoy the same domination as before due to a series of nerfs, Malenia can still be quite a tough nut to crack for most players. The encounter was so difficult that a player, popularly known as Let Me Solo Her, took it upon themselves to help others defeat her. A recent player’s experience, however, led to a victory much faster than even those of Let Me Solo Her.

Reddit user AOI_BleedKaga highlights in a post on the Elden Ring subreddit how a bug in the game allowed them to skip the dreaded Malenia battle entirely. Right after entering the arena, the cutscene gets triggered as usual, but Malenia doesn’t spawn after that. Her character model can be seen glitching into the ground, after which she completely disappears. Eventually, the “Demigod Felled” screen pops up with Malenia having not showed up to the party at all.

Redditors had a field day witnessing the hilarious incident, with many commenting that she was probably traumatized by Let Me Solo Her’s heroics. Others even suggested how the player missed the golden opportunity to brag in the title of the post considering how they ended up defeating her in 30 seconds. The fact that the player mentions that they went to fight her only after waiting a long time led to some more humorous comments, with many saying that the Scarlet Rot probably consumed her as well due to the prolonged delay.

For now, the Elden Ring community is eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated Shadow of Erdtree DLC. The lack of a release date is making fans increasingly impatient since it’s been one year since the expansion’s announcement. Just a few days back, it was discovered that the developers have pushed a backend update on Steam to the game’s artbook, soundtrack, and most importantly, a mysterious “Unknown App 2778580.” It is being speculated that the latter is the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC itself, and if fans get their wish, a release date announcement will hopefully be right around the corner.
