Golden Ax, One of Sega’s Legendary Games, is Becoming an Animated Series
Golden Axe, one of Sega’s cult beat’em’up games from 1989, is getting ready to appear as an animated series.
The cartoon series, which is being prepared by Comedy Central, will be a “fun homage” to medieval-themed fantasy games. The series will follow the adventures of Ax Battler, Tyris Flare and Gilius Thunderhead, as they try to save Yuria from the evil giant Death Adder. This time, another inexperienced and unprepared adventurer will join our trio: Hampton Squib. Squib has wanted to go on missions all his life, and apparently funny things will happen to him in this adventure.
Joe Chandler, whom we also know from American Dad, will executive produce the ten-episode Golden Ax cartoon series. The voice cast of the series includes many famous names: Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Danny Pudi (Community, Mythic Quest), Liam McIntyre (Spartacus), Carl Tart (Star Trek: Lower Decks) and Lisa Gilroy (Glamorous) are some of them. .
Community’s Abed, Danny Pudi, will play Hampton Squib, Rhys Gilius will play Thunderhead, Gilroy will play Tyris Flare, and McIntyre will play Ax Battler. We will watch Carl Tart as the humanoid panther Chronos ‘Evil’ Lait.
