‘Earth’s black box’ will tell what happens if aliens come

If the world were to disappear one day, that is, if it were destroyed to an uninhabitable level, would you like to leave a message to the generations that will continue from the few people who will survive by chance or to the aliens who will explore the world one day? Scientists are doing this now. They will upload information explaining why the world is destroyed into a 32-meter monolith.

This 32-meter column, which will be built as the Earth’s Black Box, is a project of Australian scientists.

The Monolith will be filled with hard drives that continuously document climate change, giving an ‘unbiased account of the events’ that led to Earth’s demise.

In fact, we have seen a monolith similar to this before in the movie 2001: Space Odyssey. There are even similar “stone” pillars in Istanbul, Egypt and other European countries. There are texts on these obelisks that convey to future generations what happened during the period when the obelisk was erected. The modern obelisk will also carry its data on hard disks. Because we want our alien friends who will explore the world 38 thousand years later to “open their Windows 11 operating system laptops and insert the flash disk they took from the obelisk into the laptop to easily understand what happened to us.”

This ambitious project is being led by Australian marketing firm Clemenger BBDO in collaboration with the University of Tasmania. Construction will start and finish in 2024.

In fact, the Earth’s Black Box project was first announced in December 2021 and it was announced that construction would start the next year, but the project was postponed. They have probably now been able to find sponsors from giant companies that want to show their sensitivity to protecting the environment, so they will start construction. For now, it is not clear where the obelisk will be built, but we are sure that it will be easily visible from its surroundings when it is erected.
