CD Projekt: Micropayment System Is Unnecessary in Single-Player Games
Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher studio CD Projekt made new statements. In this context, various opinions were shared regarding single-player games and it was emphasized that micropayment systems were quite unnecessary.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 was criticized a lot due to this situation
CD Projekt’s CFO Nielubowicz touched on in-game payments in his statements. As an example, Dragon’s Dogma 2, an open-world action role-playing game recently presented to players by Capcom, was cited.
As you know, the game was offered with 21 separate DLC packages at launch, and we had to have these additional packages to fast travel or edit the characters in the game. However, we can state that some elements included in the additional package are included in the game.
Nielubowicz’s statements were not limited to these and he additionally said: “We do not need micropayment systems in single-player games, but we can also state that we can use this solution in multiplayer projects in the future.”
As you know, Capcom apologized to players earlier this month for being criticized for its micropayment system.
