Jim Ryan announces he will resign in September
It was announced in September 2023 that former CEO Jim Ryan will resign and Hiroki Totoki will take over on April 1, 2024. Ryan has now officially left the company and Totoki has stepped in to oversee the PlayStation division. Totoki, on the other hand, continues his current position at Sony Group.
With a new statement made recently, the company announced that PlayStation will now move into a new era and that they will work in close cooperation with Sony Group Corporation Chairman and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida and the SIE management team.
Although the role of interim CEO officially begins today, Totoki has started visiting studios in recent months and has already made his views on Sony’s gaming strategy clear.
