Stellar Blade Demo Immediately Removed From PlayStation Store

A demo for Stellar Blade went live last night, with many assuming it was shadowdropped by PlayStation to hype up its upcoming exclusive. However, it now sees that it was shared on the PlayStation store in error, as it was taken offline just half an hour later.

As reported by VGC, the demo can’t be found on the storefront anymore, and anyone who installed it won’t be able to access it anymore, at least if their console is connected to the internet. So, while this is a clear sign that a demo for Stellar Blade is on the way, it’s unclear when we’ll be allowed to play it, as neither PlayStation nor the game’s developer Shift Up has commented on the matter.

The demo was up long enough for players to share gameplay footage online. Some players were even able to complete the demo, and it appears to take between 40 minutes to an hour to get through.

The fact that the demo was shared and then promptly pulled has fans speculating that we could get another Sony showcase before Stellar Blade’s launch next month. They theorise that the demo would then go live after the showcase is over to drum up excitement for the PS5 exclusive. Either that or it’ll just go up on its own closer to the release date, likely with an official announcement this time around.

If the demo is shared again, it remains to be seen if it’s open to all PS5 users. Some demos are paywalled behind a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription, although this isn’t always the case. Dragon’s Dogma 2’s demo, which lets players access the character creator, is available to all, so it’s possible that Stellar Blade will be too. This early release of the demo was free to all as well, regardless of their PS Plus subscription, so that’s a good sign that you won’t need Premium to play. source: thegamer.com
